Dyadem Helps Moll Industries Design Out Defects Before Manufacturing

Dyadem announced that contract manufacturer Moll Industries is now using its FMEA-Pro software to improve the quality process at its North American and European facilities. FMEA-Pro, the Failure Modes and Effects Analysis module that integrates with the Stature Quality Lifecycle Management (QLM) platform, allows Moll to do in days what used to take a team nearly one month to complete.

Contract manufacturers are able to differentiate themselves through quality initiatives and must take the time to get quality planning right. Dyadem’s QLM platform enables manufacturers to significantly cut down the time it takes to develop quality plans.

Dyadem’s FMEA-Pro has allowed Moll to standardize the quality planning process at its five plants across the United States, Mexico and Ireland. Prior to working with Dyadem, Moll’s five sites were all approaching quality with different standards and metrics and there was no consistent documentation through the company. Dyadem allows Moll to design out failures and defects before they reach the manufacturing stage by thoroughly planning the manufacturing process.

Stature is an enterprise Quality Lifecycle Management platform that allows stakeholders from design to manufacturing to collaborate in real-time and improve quality, compliance, and communication across a global manufacturing enterprise. Moll was previously using generic word processing and spreadsheet software that required more time formatting than it took creating the quality plan. Dyadem’s software is intuitive and designed from the ground up for FMEA methodology. Dyadem’s FMEA-Pro is unique software that has allowed Moll to customize their FMEA template to include all the key documents required for manufacturing including, DMR, BOM, QIS, QCP and other Quality Planning matrices dictated by the Moll QMS. Added to this is a single point data entry that minimizes errors during the Quality Planning process.

“To get a competitive edge you must have quality in your manufacturing processes,” said Andy Jobson, director of quality, Moll Industries. “Our customers come from as varied industries as automotive to medical devices and each has a different competitive driver. Some are looking to drive all possible costs out while others are more focused on their ability to replicate sound processes. For each, we still must set high quality standards.”

Quality planning early in the product lifecycle, better sharing of knowledge across business units, and the collection and application of lessons learned enables companies to overcome these obstacles, and improve profitability by delivering high value, reliable products.

To address the challenge of relaying information across teams in a global setting, Dyadem’s platform offers companies a common vocabulary for requirements, functions, and failures that allows organizations to automate best practices in a format that is easily and directly accessible to users on a current project and for subsequent development cycles. These common standards enable companies to create consistent quality specifications across their organization and construct a cycle of continuous improvement.

“Moll Industries is not alone in its need for a quality platform that identifies defects before they are manufactured and links those defects back to design in order to continuously improve quality,” said Kevin North, president and CEO of Dyadem. “Other solutions on the market are not rooted in manufacturing quality the way we are. We have 15 years of experience working with Fortune 500 manufacturers, helping them solve their unique business problems.”

For more information, Dyadem and Moll will be presenting a webcast on Tuesday, August 26 at 11 a.m. ET. Andy Jobson, director of quality for Moll Industries will be the premier speaker. Pre-registration is required at http://www.dyadem.com/media/events.php
