Energieversorgung Mittelrhein Joins Bentley’s Enterprise License Subscription Program

Bentley Systems, Incorporated announced that Energieversorgung Mittelrhein (EVM), a multi-utility, has joined Bentley’s Enterprise License Subscription (ELS) program. Bentley’s ELS grants infrastructure professionals unrestricted access to a comprehensive portfolio of architectural, engineering, construction (AEC), operations, and geospatial software for a single annual fee. Built on a common platform, the portfolio includes almost 200 integrated and interoperable design, analysis, and collaboration software products that help increase the productivity of both local and widely distributed project teams.

“This outstanding program will help us deploy Bentley’s multi-utility GIS and engineering products as needed across our enterprise,” said Wolfgang Scheurer, leader of the technical services department at EVM. “We have long been users of the Bentley sisNET family of products, and as our business has grown, so have our requirements for a first-class multi-utility geographic information system. Bentley’s ELS allows us to take advantage of new technology and new products at the click of a mouse. We no longer need to go through onerous internal software procurement cycles, and we can quickly react to the changing business environment.”

Scheurer continued, “Today’s utility organizations are under intense pressure to deliver services at the lowest possible cost with minimum service interruption. Bentley’s ELS gives us fast, easy access to products such as Bentley sisNET and MicroStation that help us achieve these goals by supporting the entire utility infrastructure lifecycle, from planning, design, construction, and operations to the retirement of redundant equipment. We use Bentley sisNET to handle the network infrastructure from pipes, pumps and valves all the way to on-premise equipment like meters. Bentley sisNET also helps us report to the Bundesnetzagentur and remain compliant with the safety and other technical requirements to which all German utilities must adhere. We use MicroStation extensively to design and maintain our water treatment plants.”

The Bentley ELS gives EVM’s teams a cost-effective way to provide technically creative alternatives and sustainable solutions for the multi-utility’s projects. As a strategic benefit, Bentley’s ELS helps organizations such as EVM become more agile. Project starts can happen faster, teams can reconfigure for new opportunities more quickly, and no-charge pilots allow new technology to be infused into projects more readily. In addition, ELS agreements can include partners, extending the agility and multiplying the benefits in global projects.

Other benefits of Bentley’s ELS program include:

•  Immediate portfolio access to the right tool at the right time from any location,

•  The ability to easily scale licensing needs as an organization grows,

•  Streamlined software administration, license management, and compliance,

•  The elimination of capital expenditure for all new software licenses,

•  Average annual license cost savings of 40 percent through a pay-per-use model,

•  The provision for global license consolidation through licensing server technology.

In addition, the program’s global license pool enables distributed teams to balance software supply and demand across offices, saving money and maximizing worldwide license utilization.
