Gerber Technology to Host its Tenth Annual Software Users Conference
Gerber Technology announced details regarding its Tenth Annual Software Users Conference. The event will be held October 16-17 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Sponsors for the event include Microsoft, Dell, Singletree Technologies, E-Spec, Shapely Shadow and Ikon Office Solutions.
New session topics will include information on collection planning software, which can be used as a collaboration tool for merchandisers and designers to brainstorm new collections and pre-populate adopted styles into WebPDM folders. Best practices will include the popular “Tips and Tricks” sessions for power users as well as managerial sessions on how to plan for PLM implementation. Case study sessions will illustrate useful applications that include how Lily Pulitzer performs costing and RFQ’s with Request Tracker. Our hands-on sessions will give users the chance to test drive new software versions as well as learn to use new technologies. Gerber Technology has created a new, hands-on session that will allow participants to create their own avatars and customize garments to fit them. Participants will then be able to keep their viewable avatar file. This year also marks the introduction of several new tracks including one dedicated solely to system architecture, added to address the concerns of IT professionals.
“The Users Conference is always the highlight of our year and continues to gain momentum each year. In fact, with almost a month until conference time, we have already surpassed last year’s registrant total,” said Bill Brewster, Gerber Technology’s Vice President, Global Marketing and Product Management. “This is a great opportunity for us at Gerber to have some valuable face time with our customers and to exchange knowledge, experiences and best practices. I’m looking forward to gathering with everyone and looking forward to sharing some big announcements while we’re there,” he added.
The 2008 event features several new sessions, with over 10% more content than the 2007 Users Conference -- including opportunities to “Ask the Expert.” Content is organized amongst six different tracks to help guide attendees on which of the many different sessions are best for them.

This year’s keynote speaker is renowned branding and marketing expert, author and former host of SuccessTalk, Ira Blumenthal. He is President of CO-OPPORTUNITIES, Inc., an Atlanta-based consulting company whose clients include: adidas, Kmart, Target, Nike, Wal-Mart, Coca-Cola, Nestle, and McDonald’s.
Customer Appreciation Gala
On the night of October 16, Fuse located right inside the Gaylord Opryland, will transform into a celebration of Gerber Technology’s 40 years in the fashion industry. There will be themed areas decorated to reflect each decade that has passed since the company’s inception, featuring music and décor from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and today.
