Siemens PLM Software Sponsored Race Teams Continue to Lead the NASCAR Sprint Cup Chase for the Championship

Siemens PLM Software announced Siemens PLM Software-sponsored race teams Hendrick Motorsports and Roush Fenway Racing – whose cars are developed with the help of Siemens PLM Software technology – have combined to win the first three NASCAR® Sprint Cup Series Chase for the Championship races and hold the top three spot in the points standings.

In addition to winning the first three Chase for the Championship races, Siemens PLM Software sponsored race teams Hendrick Motorsports, Joe Gibbs Racing and Roush Fenway Racing entered the NASCAR® NEXTEL Cup Series Chase for the Championship securing nine of the 12 spots, including the top four spots. Joe Gibbs Racing driver Kyle Busch led the top four followed by Roush Fenway Racing driver Carl Edwards and Hendrick Motorsports drivers Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Johnson, a two-time Cup Champion and the current Chase leader, won the latest Cup Series Race in Kansas with Edwards and his Roush Fenway Racings teammate Greg Biffle taking the two and three spots respectively. Last week at the Cup Series Race in Dover, Roush Fenway Racing drivers swept the podium with Biffle bringing home the win for the second week in a row and Matt Kenseth and Edwards, taking two and three respectively. The week prior at the Cup Series Race in New Hampshire, the three current Chase for the Championship leaders took the podium with Biffle taking first place and Johnson and Edwards taking two and three respectively.
