Autodesk Presents Revit BIM Experience Award to Loebermann + Partner

Autodesk, Inc. has announced that Loebermann + Partner, an architectural firm based in Nuremberg, Germany, has been selected to receive a Revit BIM Experience Award. The firm is being honored for its effective use of the building information modeling (BIM) process for architectural planning and design, resulting in significant time and budget savings. The award also recognizes Loebermann + Partner for using Revit Architecture software to produce visualizations, especially during early design stages, and for using their BIM expertise to gain a competitive edge in their market.

"A BIM process provides us unique value at each stage of a commercial planning or building project," said Volker Bernsdorf, managing partner for Loebermann + Partner. "Using Revit Architecture for BIM helps us to quickly develop and evaluate alternatives. And because the related drawings, schedules and other factors are automatically coordinated with the model, we can explore design options and not worry about investing time creating supporting documentation for design options we may discard. Overall, we do more with a smaller team, and show significant gains in terms of time and budget."

Founded in 1959, Loebermann + Partner is a German architectural firm providing a full range of design and planning services. With a partner office in Istanbul, the 20-person firm works on an extensive range of projects, including office and administration buildings for commercial clients and insurance companies, high-rise buildings, shopping centers, department stores, cinemas, hotels, town halls, entire infrastructures and city planning, and residential estates. Some of the firm's recent projects include the Noris-Tower in Nuremberg, the Siemens Medical Solutions Training Center in Erlangen, and the renovation of the Atakoy marina in Istanbul. BuildingTools GmbH provided implementation and training services.

Loebermann + Partner has demonstrated exemplary use of the BIM process on several projects, including the 45,500-square-meter 5-Star-Hotel in Adana, Turkey. Currently in development, and scheduled to open in July 2009, the 245-room hotel project is a joint effort with 2Design, a Turkish architectural firm. For this project Loebermann + Partner did the basic evaluation, preliminary planning and design, with 2Design managing approval, implementation and detail planning. For the project Loebermann + Partner used Revit Architecture to:

--  Help quickly generate a large quantity of renderings directly from early conceptual models

--  Develop several design concepts within a single model

--  Dynamically toggle between multiple design concepts for visualization review, and calculate gross volume and other elements needed to meet the client's program requirements

--  More easily create repeatable design modules, such as a hotel room, that when modified automatically updates like modules

--  Aid in keeping drawings, documentation, schedules, building component lists and room/floor summaries constantly updated
