MSC.Software Teams With Alenia Aeronautica and Italian Airforce for International Conference on Virtual Test and Engineering Simulation in Aerospace and Defense

MSC.Software announced that it will team with Alenia Aeronautica and the Italian Airforce (Aeronautica Militare) to host the second International Conference on Virtual Test and Engineering Simulation in Aerospace and Defense. The conference will be held October 23-24 - 2008 at the Palazzo Barberini and at the CSV (Italian Air Force Flight Experimental Center) in Pratica di Mare Air Base, near Rome, Italy. Other sponsors of the event include The Italian Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC), IBM and international sponsors including Esteco, Ernst & Young, Vistagy and Redam.

Following the success of the first Conference, the objective of the 2008 event is to create an international forum for sharing and discussing state-of-the-art solutions, processes, and projects relating to Virtual Test & Engineering, with the specific highlight on the European military aerospace community. The conference agenda includes an introduction to the latest simulation technology advancements available from MSC.Software, keynote presentations from leading manufacturers, case study experiences describing best-practice implementations, and the business impact on product development, production and commercial competiveness. Presentation themes focus on the visions and challenges of virtual testing, enterprise engineering simulation and PLM, full-system multi-disciplinary integration, high performance computing and European aerospace programs and trends. More than 150 delegates are expected to attend including representatives from AgustaWestland, Airbus, Bombardier Aerospace, CIRA, CNES, EADS, EASA, Elsag Datamat, ESA, Finmeccanica, MBDA, SCAC, Selex, and Thales.
