Siemens PLM Software Launches the Nationwide Education Network in Korea

Siemens PLM Software announced the launch of its nationwide education network throughout Korea including the commencement of the Education System for Advanced Engineering Technology (ESAT), a nationwide educational network in Korea, and the opening of a new ePLM Education Center at the Gasan Digital Complex in Seoul.

As a part of its nationwide education network, Siemens PLM Software expanded the ePLM Education Center, a certified education institution, at its new location to provide trainees with easy access and six training rooms that can accommodate more than 100 trainees at a time. The center also serves as the head office for the other training centers across the country; Taegu Vocational School (Taegu), Hyundai CAD Occupational Training Institute (Incheon), Mold School (Pusan), DW CAE/CAM (Suwon), and Dream World Solutions (Gunpo) for a unified and professional education curriculum in Korea. Beginning in 2008, an incumbent restoration course will be provided alongside long-term education courses. These courses are expected not only to provide opportunities to learn PLM skills, but also to enhance technology skills of existing users and foster the PLM-related workforce.

“Education is the foundation to support the industry,” said KR Kwon, vice president for Siemens PLM Software’s Korea operations. “As a PLM industry leader, Siemens PLM Software contributes to the basic expansion of the overall industry through engineering business management. With help from numerous partners, opening the expanded e-PLM Education Center at the Gasan Digital Complex enables us to offer better opportunities for quality education service to many CAD/CAM/PLM users and customers in metropolitan areas, including the Kyongin area. Ultimately, we hope to contribute to the cultivation of the engineering workforce to improve the employment rate.”

Students enrolled in Siemens PLM Software education programs can expect to receive 60 - 85 percent refund from the Ministry of Labor. For more information about the refund program, please visit http://www.hrd.go.kr
