Armstrong International, Inc. Selects IFS Applications to Standardize Global Operation

IFS announced that in the last quarter of 2007 Armstrong International, Inc.(AII), headquartered in Three Rivers, Mich., selected IFS Applications in order to unify its global manufacturing business.

AII, a manufacturer of intelligent system solutions for steam, air and hot water utility applications, operates sales, manufacturing and seminar facilities around the world. By implementing IFS Applications, AII will integrate locations in the US, Europe and Asia, for improved communication, reduced transactions and consolidated visibility of critical business information.

“We are currently running different enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems at all of our main manufacturing facilities and this challenge had to be addressed,” Armstrong International, Inc. Chief Information Officer Kurt Armstrong said. “We began the process of looking for a new ERP system in an effort to become more global and streamline all our locations to depend on one business system. We selected IFS because it showed a strong backbone to support our manufacturing needs, its shop floor control modules were very impressive and in all it met the functionality requirement at a low total cost of ownership.”

“IFS Applications is the ideal choice for manufactures, such as Armstrong International, with complex worldwide operations," IFS North America President and CEO Cindy Jaudon said. “We are pleased to partner with Armstrong International to accomplish their global standardization efforts through our component-based software that easily supports multiple sites, multiple languages, multiple currencies, and multiple sets of accounting rules.”

Industrial manufacturing is one of IFS’ seven targeted market segments. IFS has a broad customer base in the industry, focusing on medium to large-sized manufacturers that need support for complex order-driven and mixed-mode manufacturing across the extended enterprise. With strong support for project management, engineering, constraint-based scheduling, product configuration, and after-sales support, IFS’ component-based business solutions are designed to help companies improve quality, contain costs, and improve their competitive position in manufacturing industry segments such as machinery, defense, fabricated metal products, and plastics. Industrial manufacturing companies also benefit from IFS’ lifecycle management solution, which goes beyond product lifecycle management (PLM) to provide better integration and management of three critical business areas—products, customers, and resources—throughout their lifecycles. IFS Industrial Manufacturing customers include Fabcon, Chief Industries, Aeromatic-Fielder, Star-Cutter, J&H Machine Tools, Konskilde, Nolato Group, Bombardier, Partnertech AB, Mechanik Center Erlangen GmbH, Völkl and Tour & Andersson.
