Bluebeam Version 7.0 Compatibility Announced
Bluebeam plans to release Bluebeam PDF Revu version 7.0 in early 2009. With this new release, there will be changes to the versions of Windows, Office and AutoCAD that are supported.
Bluebeam will discontinue compatibility and support for the following products:
- Windows 2000
- AutoCAD 2002 and earlier versions
- Office 2000 and earlier versions
This means that Bluebeam PDF Revu v 7.0 will not run on computers with Windows 2000. In addition, the version 7.0 plugins will not work in the above mentioned versions of Windows, Office and AutoCAD. Note: Users will still be able to create PDF files by printing to the Bluebeam PDF printer that is installed with Bluebeam PDF Revu.
It is recommended that version 6 customers who continue to run any of the Microsoft or Autodesk versions listed above, continue using version 6 rather than upgrading to version 7.
Bluebeam’s decision to discontinue support is consistent with the software manufacturers. Microsoft has discontinued support for Windows 2000 and Office 2000. Autodesk has also discontinued support for all versions up to and including AutoCAD 2004.
