Magma Names Semiconductor and EDA Veteran Carl Burrow to Head U.S. Sales

Magma® Design Automation Inc. announced the promotion of Carl Burrow to vice president of North America Sales. Burrow most recently managed sales in Magma's U.S. South region and will report to Roy E. Jewell, Magma president and chief operating officer.

Burrow has been with Magma for 6 years, joining the company when it acquired EDA startup Aplus Design Technology in 2003. His prior experience includes 8 years in Texas Instruments' Semiconductor Division, where he began as a product marketing engineer and eventually served as a district sales manager. He later spent 9 years with Actel Corporation -- a period that included revenue growth from $21 million to $226 million and the company's initial public offering -- eventually serving as vice president of Worldwide Marketing and vice president of Worldwide Sales. This was followed by his move to Aplus, where he served as vice president of Worldwide Sales.

Burrow holds a master's degree in business administration from Amberton University in Dallas and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Missouri University of Science and Technology.
