Tacton Systems to showcase TactonWorks 4.2 at SolidWorks World 2009
Tacton Systems announced that it will demonstrate TactonWorks 4.2 at the SolidWorks World 2009 Conference, being held from Feb. 8 -11, 2009 in Orlando, Fla. Show attendees will see how TactonWorks and SolidWorks 3D CAD software enable manufacturers to reduce customer specific engineering work by automating repetitive design customization tasks.
As a SolidWorks Certified Gold Product, TactonWorks is fully embedded within the SolidWorks window, where engineers can define design rules intuitively and concisely. Tacton’s patented product configuration solver engine eliminates the need to translate design rules to sequential calculations. Users are empowered to interactively perform the design customizations in any sequence they want, always seeing the updated model in SolidWorks.
“Recent research shows that best-in-class companies with Engineer-to-order business can improve profit margins by 80% by using design automation and product configuration software, and we are proud to make these capabilities available with ease-of-use to SolidWorks customers around the world”, said Klas Orsvärn, Tacton’s co-founder and EVP Business Development.
On Monday Feb. 9, at 12:30 in the Certified Partner Theater, the wastewater treatment leader ClearStream Environmental will present their experiences of implementing TactonWorks.
“The automation, interactivity and intuitive design rules of TactonWorks allow us to radically shorten the time to create SolidWorks models, engineering drawings, cost estimates and customer bids.”, said Chris Price, Senior Designer, ClearStream Environmental, Inc.
Tacton will showcase the upcoming 4.2 release of TactonWorks, including advanced control of drawing updates, productivity enhancements, and groundbreaking design automation capabilities to customize systems and layouts of different products in the same assembly.
“Customers are demanding even more creativity and efficiency from manufacturers, making product design and development even more challenging and putting more pressure on engineers,” said DS SolidWorks Manager of Alliances Nick Iwaskow. “Working directly within the SolidWorks environment to access advanced design automation via TactonWorks not only increases engineering productivity, but also fuels innovation that helps engineers design better products.”
The SolidWorks Partner Program features products and services that complement SolidWorks solutions. Certified Gold Products are fully integrated with SolidWorks software and provide users with instant access to the partner application within the SolidWorks window.
