The 2009 Manufacturing Executive Leadership Forum

Managing Automation Media and Deutsche Messe International announce a new executive-level conference, Manufacturing Executive Leadership Forum, to take place April 20-22, 2009, during Hannover Fair, on the fair grounds. This in-depth program presented by world class manufacturing thought leaders is specifically designed to help executive attendees focus on critical recovery issues for today’s embattled manufacturing economy.

The Manufacturing Executive Leadership Forum, which is supported by global consulting and research firms CIMdata, Cambashi, and IDC Manufacturing Insights, will bring senior-level manufacturing decision-makers a compelling content program that will accomplish two key goals:

•  To develop a short term strategy to cope with the current economic environment while not losing sight of the next several years

•  To learn how to continue to improve business performance in this increasingly challenging economic landscape

Each day of the content program will focus on a different critical business issue:

•  Monday, April 20: Innovation in partnership with CIMdata

•  Tuesday, April 21: Enterprise Integration in partnership with Cambashi

•  Wednesday, April 22: Operational Excellence in partnership with IDC Manufacturing Insights

Confirmed speakers include Prof. Dr. Detlef Zuehlke, Director, SmartFactory; Paul Christodoulou, Senior Industrial Fellow, Cambridge University’s Institute for Manufacturing; Ed Miller, CEO, CIMdata; Tony Christian, Principal Consultant, Cambashi; Pierfrancesco Manenti, EMEA Research Director, IDC Manufacturing Insights; Arne Svendsen, Head of Manufacturing, Service, and Automation, Arla Foods; Mike James, Group Managing Director, ATS International; Nick Gill, Vice President, Global Manufacturing Sector Leader, Capgemini.

“This year more than ever, the pressure is on for companies to have an accurate and up-to-date view of their business, company-wide. Clearly, financial performance results depend on operating realities, which are in turn guided by the products and processes of the company – the challenge is linking all of that together. Cambashi is co-hosting this event to help illuminate the central role of enterprise integration to manufacturers’ ability to survive and thrive in the current economic downturn, as well as over the long term.” Peter Thorne, Managing Director, Cambashi Ltd.

In addition to the content program, the Forum will offer Guided Show Floor Tours which will provide VIP attendees the opportunity to schedule meetings with senior level management from participating vendor companies at their booths where they can discuss their critical business issues one-to-one while learning about the technologies that can help solve them.

Vendors who are exhibiting at Hannover Fair can participate in the event through sponsorship opportunities that include participation on a panel sessions, 45-minute vendor showcase presentations, participation in guided tours and inclusion in all relevant marketing activities and networking events. Sponsorships are limited and available on a first come, first serve basis.

“Managing Automation Media and Deutsche Messe International are teaming up to provide a high-value content and networking forum in tandem with one of the world’s largest and preeminent manufacturing trade fairs. Our goal is to bring leaders from manufacturing together in an environment that will allow for maximum networking, education, and engagement in a cost-efficient and time-sensitive manner,” explained Heather L. Holst-Knudsen, Publisher, Managing Automation Media. “We believe the partnership with Deutsche Messe and support from CIMdata, Cambashi, and IDC Manufacturing Insights will yield great benefits for manufacturers in their efforts to develop new vision and strategies, learn about new technologies that support these visions and strategies, and find new partners, suppliers, and customers to maintain and grow competitive advantage on a global scale.”

Commenting on the partnership, Marco Siebert, Head of Press Hannover Messe of Deutsche Messe, said, “Joining forces with Managing Automation Media gives us a splendid opportunity to share the most exciting developments, topics, and trends with our trade fair clientele, which comprises top industry buyers, sellers, decision makers, and users.”
