ASCENT- Center for Technical Knowledge® Releases Three Training Guides for Autodesk 2011 Software

RAND Worldwide® announced that its courseware division, ASCENT – Center for Technical Knowledge®, released three training guides for Autodesk 2011 software:

AutoCAD/AutoCAD LT 2011 Fundamentals

AutoCAD 2011 Update for AutoCAD 2009/2010 Users

Autodesk Inventor 2011 Introduction to Solid Modeling

The AutoCAD/AutoCAD LT 2011 Fundamentals training guide provides new AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT users with the skills required to create 2D drawings. The guide helps users understand the workspace and interface, as well as teaches users how to use basic drawing, editing, and viewing tools, and how to add text, hatching and dimensions to a file. In addition, more advanced techniques are covered to further refine a user’s skill sets. Users learn advanced editing and construction techniques, how to create local and global blocks and set up layers and templates. This guide is written to cover topics required in the AutoCAD certification examinations.

The AutoCAD 2011 Update for AutoCAD 2009/2010 Users courseware introduces the new 2D features of both AutoCAD 2011 and AutoCAD 2010. AutoCAD 2009 users are taught the new functionality in AutoCAD 2010 and 2011. AutoCAD 2010 users are introduced to the AutoCAD 2011 changes and enhancements, and are provided a review of the 2010 enhancements. This training guide includes a revised Application Menu that replaces the Menu Browser, and annotation updates. As well, this book introduces the new geometric and dimensional constraints functionality for 2D objects and dynamic blocks.

The Autodesk Inventor 2011 Introduction to Solid Modeling training guide instructs users in best usage approaches for parametric design philosophy through a hands-on, practice-intensive curriculum. Users acquire the knowledge to complete the process of designing models, from conceptual sketching through to solid modeling, assembly design, and drawing production. This guide is one of four Inventor training guides written to cover topics required in the Autodesk Inventor certification examinations. This year, based on client feedback, ASCENT has also released two additional courses that use Autodesk Inventor 2011 Introduction to Solid Modeling as their foundation. These additional courses divide all of the content into two parts; one focusing on Part Modeling and the other on assembly and model documentation. This flexibility allows clients to teach the materials as separate classes with independent books.

ASCENT is an Authorized Author, Publisher and Developer of Autodesk curriculum. In addition, all of ASCENT’s Inventor courseware is Autodesk Inventor certified. All of the company’s Autodesk courses are available to educational institutions, individuals, and corporations.

ASCENT will be releasing a full range of titles updated for 2011 in the coming months. To see the company’s complete courseware lineup for Autodesk, Dassault Systèmes, and PTC software solutions, please visit http://www.ASCENTed.com.
