Agilent Technologies’ GoldenGate Software Selected by RF Integration for Advanced RFIC Development
Agilent Technologies Inc. announced that RF Integration Inc. has selected Agilent’s GoldenGate software for use in the development of advanced radio frequency integrated circuits (ICs).
RF Integration develops customized RF solutions that improve RF performance, power consumption, cost and size. The simulation accuracy, capacity and performance benefits offered by GoldenGate are critical to supporting RF Integration’s development of high-performance, customized RF Systems-on-a-Chip.
“As a leader in customized RF solutions, we recognize that our customers in the defense, industrial and consumer markets expect and demand timely delivery of leading edge products,” said Ray Moroney, vice president of Development Operations at RF Integration. “Our business depends on our use of best-in-class, cost-effective tools, to cut our simulation times and improve accuracy. We specifically selected Agilent’s GoldenGate software because of its accuracy, versatility, speed, capacity, proven performance and cost effectiveness. In benchmarking exercises, it allowed us to cut as much as 50 percent off the simulation times of full receiver and transmitter chains.”

GoldenGate is a simulation, verification and analysis solution available for integrated RF circuit design within the Cadence Virtuoso design flow. Its unique simulation algorithms are optimized for the challenging demands of today’s complex RF circuit design, enabling full characterization of complete transceivers prior to tape-out. GoldenGate is part of Agilent’s RFIC simulation, analysis and verification solution that also includes Momentum for 3-D planar electromagnetic simulation, Ptolemy Wireless Test Benches for system level verification, and the Advanced Design System (ADS) Data Display for advanced data analysis. This suite links the RF system, subsystem, and component-level design and analysis as part of a unique and comprehensive RFIC design flow.
