Cadence OrCAD PSpice Technology to be Used by STMicroelectronics to Help its Customers Evaluate Analog and Power ICs
Cadence Design Systems, Inc. announced that STMicroelectronics, a global leader in integrated circuits for communications, consumer, computer, automotive and industrial applications, has selected Cadence® OrCAD® PSpice® technology to provide simulation capabilities to its customers to evaluate the company’s analog and power IC’s.
STMicroelectronics will provide its customers models and recommend its customer to use Cadence OrCAD PSpice technology which can be accessed at www.cadence.com for the simulation and evaluation of STMicroelectronics’ analog and power IC product families. Customers will be able to run a free version of OrCAD PSpice technology, a widely used platform, within specific circuit testbenches. Recommending customers to use Cadence OrCAD PSpice technology is part of STMicroelectronics’ Sense and Power campaign and is designed to bolster support to electronics engineers.
STMicroelectronics’ analog products are already supported today by the free SMPS@eDesign Studio, created to help designing and simulating Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS) systems. Designs obtained with SMPS@eDesign Studio can be more accurately simulated with OrCAD PSpice technology.
The first product families that can deploy the Cadence OrCAD technology will be DC-DC converters and ViPERTM. All industrial and multi-segment sector analog and power IC products will eventually be included. The OrCAD PSpice full-featured, native analog and mixed-signal circuit simulator is considered the de-facto industry-standard Spice-based simulator for system design.
