Lectra to Present Latest Technology Innovations for Apparel Brands and Retailers at SPESA Expo 2010

Lectra announced its participation in SPESA Expo 2010 held May 18-20, 2010 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. During the exhibition, Lectra will unveil its latest fashion dedicated solutions and present attendees with the benefits of an integrated and seamless fashion platform for the creation, development, production and management of apparel collections.

Attendees who visit Lectra at Booth 5339 at SPESA Expo 2010 will have the chance to experience the comprehensive scope of Lectra's offering from Lectra Fashion PLM -- the apparel dedicated PLM platform encompassing the entire design and development process -- all the way through to production with the Vector FX and MX cutting series, the company's range of cutting solutions from single-ply and matched fabric cutting to high-ply cutting of denim and automotive materials. In addition, Lectra will present software solutions for other soft goods markets like DesignConcept for automotive, furniture and composites, as well as Romans Cad®© for footwear and accessories.

During the three day event, Lectra will present its latest version of Lectra Fashion PLM, the only extended enterprise solution designed for the fashion industry incorporating all steps in the product design and development process, including color specification, textile design, style design, merchandising and pattern engineering.

Lectra will showcase its professional textile and fashion design platform, Kaledo®, which helps creative teams accelerate the design process while improving communication and collaboration across the supply chain. Sharing a common platform with Lectra Fashion PLM, Kaledo encourages artistic creativity, allowing for the design of unique prints, knits and weaves, while structuring the collection creation process and facilitating the exchange of information internal and external to the design environment.

Featuring Kaledo V2R2, Lectra will demonstrate how design and development teams can benefit from Lectra's partnership with X-Rite/Pantone via a direct connection with X-Rite's ColorMunki™, which reads colors from physical samples directly into all Kaledo modules and allows access to the full range of Pantone color references.

Lectra will also present its pattern design and nesting solutions, Modaris® and Diamino®, which allow for the creation, development, verification, industrialization and grading of patterns faster, at lower costs and with flawless quality, while letting you automatically generate markers that respect all fabric and garment constraints from the simplest to the most complex shapes.

For improved decision-making and cut-order planning, Optiplan® cutting room management software enables companies to take control of fabric stocks, as well as take into account the availability of raw materials across multiple locations. A true cutting-room control tower, Optiplan allows production managers to select the most efficient markers, propose alternate solutions, simulate costs and anticipate new production orders. From material management flow to marker selection, spreading and cutting, each decision is optimized to ensure the lowest costs and the most effective cutting plans possible.

At the heart of Lectra's intelligent cutting room offer, the Vector® automated cutter achieves maximum productivity and material savings when connected with Lectra's planning, nesting and spreading solutions. The Vector provides productivity, flexibility and precision, adapted to all end products, including the most intricate lingerie models to the thickest materials such as denim.

3D Innovations

In addition to Lectra's global solution offer for the fashion and apparel industry, the company will be showcasing 3D solutions for design and industrialization for various industries from Apparel and Accessories to Automotive, Aeronautical, Furniture and other Industrial Fabric applications.

Modaris 3D Fit, the highest-performance virtual 3D prototyping solution, enables pattern makers, designers, developers and sales and marketing teams to simulate and visualize their models in 3D on a virtual mannequin, using the color motifs and fabrics (taking into account their mechanical behavior) originally created in 2D. With Modaris 3D Fit, the look and fit of a garment can be verified, along with a style and entire collection validated.

Romans Cad 3D Sketch for Footwear enables designers to create textured sketches directly onto a 3D digital last using an electronic pen and graphics tablet, without impeding creativity. The Romans Cad 3D Sketch module offers designers a very similar experience to traditional hand-drawing. Designers can produce sketches on a 3D last and create a virtual prototype to be used directly by the development center. The result is greater consistency between the sketch and finished model, which drastically reduces development times while increasing the number of realistic simulations for increased frequency of collection renewal.

DesignConcept is Lectra's 3D/2D conception and industrialization solution dedicated to advanced materials. Based on Lectra's solid experience in industrial manufacturing solutions, this application provides powerful tools to facilitate the analysis of product feasibility, finished product quality, and cost, thus enabling companies to make key decisions in the product development phase and thereby reduce time to market and minimize costs.
