SME Education Foundation and Siemens PLM Software Prepare Students for Global Manufacturing Arena

The SME Education Foundation and Siemens PLM Software offer SME Education Foundation sponsored schools the opportunity to use the latest state-of-the-art PLM tools in their curriculum.

Siemens PLM Software and the SME Education Foundation will provide a total solution package to the academic institution including unlimited seats of any Siemens PLM Software technology, free center-based training and free upgrades and tech support.

The range of software includes Teamcenter® software, Siemens PLM Software’s digital lifecycle management solution; Tecnomatix® software, Siemens PLM Software’s digital manufacturing solution; NX™ software, Siemens PLM Software’s comprehensive digital product development solution; and Solid Edge® software, the core CAD component of the Velocity Series™ portfolio, a comprehensive family of solutions addressing PLM needs of the mid-market.

Siemens PLM Software will provide access to PLM technology, which otherwise would be out of reach for the academic community, giving students a distinct advantage by being able to use the same PLM technology used by leading multi-national manufacturing companies around the globe. The experience gained in the use of these tools better prepares students for today’s highly-competitive manufacturing jobs requiring full knowledge of modern technologies and tools.

Siemens PLM Software’s solutions are a powerful enhancement to every level of curriculum. Undergraduate and graduate students can use the software to acquire skills in simulation, robotics, manufacturing processes, facilities planning and product data management. Secondary students are engaged in activities that will reinforce their high school experience and encourage them to consider careers in science, technology, engineering and math.

Applying for a Siemens PLM Software Grant:

Siemens PLM Software Grant applications will be evaluated based on school size, academic program content, program exposure, community impact and financial need. A typical grant involves in-kind contributions of the PLM software for a set period of time along with support and upgrades covered by the grant. Extensive training materials are also available.

GO PLM Program:

Siemens PLM Software’s GO PLM™ provides PLM technology to more than one million students yearly at nearly 10,500 global institutions, where it is used at every academic level – from grade schools to graduate engineering research programs.
