Infor to Spark Lean Manufacturing Gains at C/G Electrodes
Infor has been selected by C/G Electrodes, a leading manufacturer of graphite electrodes used in the electric arc furnace steel making process, to manage its business processes and strengthen its lean manufacturing practices. Infor ERP SyteLine, a dynamic enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution for discrete manufacturers, along with its Advanced Planning and Scheduling module, will help the company optimize inventory, improve team member efficiency, and bolster customer service.
“As the only wholly American owned manufacturer of graphite electrodes, we required an ERP system with a wide range of functionality for production planning, shop floor control, and product costing,” said Carolyn Hockman, Manager, Business Systems at C/G Electrodes. “We selected Infor because Infor is sharply in tune with the requirements of mid-sized manufacturers and took the time to get to know and understand our business. Throughout the process it became clear that we were important to Infor, and that ERP SyteLine was the best solution to meet our unique needs.”
ERP SyteLine will help C/G Electrodes meet its goal of shortening time-to-market by providing greater accuracy, detail and speed of information across the complex processes required for hybrid manufacturing. Also key to C/G Electrodes’ selection of ERP SyteLine was the solution’s analytic and reporting capabilities, which deliver critical information to users without disruption to daily operations. This functionality will enable primary decision makers to make the choices they need to be more competitive and enhances workforce productivity.
The Advance Planning and Scheduling module for ERP SyteLine will help the company coordinate orders with production planning to improve customer service. Due to the nature of the graphite electrode manufacturing industry, C/G Electrodes requires a planning module fully capable of synchronizing inventory and material flow to customer demand. Advanced Planning and Scheduling gives C/G Electrodes heightened visibility into inventory and available resources, improving its lean manufacturing operations and increasing customer service.
Infor ERP SyteLine and the Advanced Planning and Scheduling module will be implemented at C/G Electrodes with the help of Infor channel partner, Decision Resources, a full service manufacturing and technology consulting firm.
