Performix Joins OSIsoft Partner Program

Performix Inc., the provider of manufacturing execution, recipe management, and batch solutions for the chemical, consumer products, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical industries, announced a partnership with OSIsoft, provider of the PI System, the industry standard enterprise infrastructure for management of time-series data and events. Integration of the Performix xMES® solution with the PI System can provide manufacturers with a turn-key solution to capture electronic batch records while providing enterprise wide visibility into batch data and events through the PI System.

“Given the already complex nature of the manufacturing landscape we were interested in defining an architecture that would require less but provide more,” said Keith Carey, Manufacturing Operations Automation Manager at Dow Corning. “The combination of the Performix xMES solution and the PI System further extends our next generation manufacturing architecture to support electronic work instructions, data capture and retrieval by providing enterprise level batch record availability for quality and production performance reporting.”

Bringing together the flexibility and efficiency of the Performix xMES solution with the scalability and security of the PI System gives manufacturers the ability to more easily track and trace raw materials through finished goods and leverage the PI historian to store electronic batch records in S88 format. In addition, this integration enables storage and access to recipe and order execution data as part of CFR21 part 11 compliant manufacturing initiatives.

“OSIsoft customers are looking for solutions that can enable them to aggregate and analyze performance data on critical batch processes and have more eyes on this data through the PI system,” said Bernard Morneau, President of OSIsoft. “We are pleased that Performix has chosen to work with the PI System to provide this needed solution, and we welcome them as a valued OSIsoft Partner.”

“As part of comprehensive quality and traceability initiatives, manufacturers want more choice in how they capture, standardize and store critical data from the manufacturing process,” said Sham Afzalpurkar, President and Chief Executive Officer of Performix. “By marrying the Performix xMES solution with the SAP and PI Systems, manufacturers not only have the flexibility in how they choose to capture and where they choose to store their batch records but also can rest assured that the critical process data will be secure.”
