Catalog Data Solutions Announces 26% Growth Driven by Industrial Suppliers Adapting to the New Buying Process

Catalog Data Solutions (CDS) announced 26% revenue growth in 2010 compared to 2009.

“Designers now research and select products online so a supplier’s website is their primary marketing vehicle. Our revenue growth proves that an accelerating number of industrial suppliers (manufacturers and distributors) recognize this and are ensuring their parts are easy to find and select on their own website. Adding downloadable CAD aids selection, simplifies incorporation of your product into a new design and leads to a sale once that design goes to market,” said John Major, CEO Catalog Data Solutions. “The pattern we are seeing is that industrial suppliers are:

1. Improving their websites and sales lead generation by rapidly implementing our, relatively low cost, Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions - CDS Catalog™, CDS ModelServer™, CDS Configurator™.

2. Initially or at a later stage, integrating these into existing CRM, ERP, Manufacturing systems, etc by utilizing the extremely flexible ad configurable web services architecture of these SaaS solutions.

3. Increasing their online marketing presence by syndicating their CAD content to the 3DModelSpace.com™ CAD search engine.

Customers we welcomed last year include three divisions of ITT (Goulds, Bell and Gossett, Marlow), AST Bearings, Amphenol Connex, ISC Engineering, Mueller Industries, GAM, DimcoGray (via TriComB2B), Kraissl Co. (via Cole WebMarketing), BTM, Associated Spring Raymond, Precision Screw Thread, White Drive Products, Heyco Products, Magnet-Schultz, Altra Warner Linear (via CDS partner i-MARK).

Of all the types of online marketing content a supplier can use (white papers, case studies, brochures, videos, demos, recorded webinars, reviews, CAD model downloads, etc.) only CAD model downloads are known to lead to a sale nearly 50% of the time according to CDS. CAD downloads get a supplier’s products specified into new designs, and provide sales leads by registration.
