Bluebeam Software Launches New Bluebeam PDF Revu eXtreme to Supercharge PDF-Based Communication and Workflows for Enterprises
Bluebeam Software announced the launch of its new Bluebeam PDF Revu eXtreme, the latest and most advanced edition of its PDF platform technologies that provides a more powerful digital workflow solution to create, markup, edit and manage PDF files in a paperless enterprise environment. Unveiled today at info360, the Association for Information and Image Management Expo in Washington, D.C., Revu eXtreme is a more flexible and efficient alternative to Adobe® Acrobat to streamline paper-free business processes, collaboration and efficiency for enterprises and PDF power users.

New OCR Capabilities
For many enterprises, one of the challenges of implementing paperless workflows is incorporating printed documents into the process. Revu provides Optical Character Recognition (OCR) capabilities to transform scanned PDF documents into text searchable and selectable files - making them incredibly useful and powerful digital documents. Configuration options include the ability to correct skew, ignore vector content, and minimize file size. To save even more time, eXtreme offers batch processing to apply OCR to several files - meaning an entire library of scanned PDFs can be processed at once.
Fillable Forms Creation
Need to create a fillable form from an existing PDF document? eXtreme lets users convert static documents into fillable forms and easily add text fields, buttons, check and list boxes and digital signature fields with precision. From within a panel in the Revu interface, users simply select the form field type they want and place it onto the PDF as Revu automatically helps users align with existing form fields for a professional appearance. Form fields can be designed to automatically calculate values, validate entries and other actions by definition. Users can even write custom JavaScript processes to automate form processing.
Custom Scripting
For enhanced time savings and efficiency, eXtreme supports custom scripting to automate multiple markup, editing and workflow processes so they can be applied with a single click. More than 25 scripting options are included to automatically stamp, merge and secure files, rotate pages, add headers or footers, and do more to save time. Newly created scripting icons can be saved to the toolbar for one-click access and stored to a user profile or even shared with colleagues to streamline document processing in a collaborative environment.
In addition to these advanced features, eXtreme also wraps in all the newest upgrades found in Revu 9, including:
- 3D PDF viewing capability that lets users navigate through complex models on screen and rotate, spin and zoom to gain a dynamic view of the project. It also provides the ability to isolate and view specific elements, make transparent layers or even save specific views in the document so that project collaborators can have the same perspective.
- VisualSearch™, a Revu exclusive, that enables users to search for all instances of a specific visual element or symbol across the current document, all open documents, recent documents, or files in a specific folder. eXtreme even allows users to simultaneously apply markups to all results instantly, eliminating a time-consuming manual process.
- PDF to MS Office® document conversion that seamlessly converts PDF files back to their native MS Office file formats, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, for editing, as well as HTML for online use and search-ability.
