Engineering Optimizer, Technia’s New Service Offering
Engineering Optimizer is a new release from Technia based on more than 20 customer implementations of ENOVIA’s Engineering Central. The Engineering Optimizer not only speeds up the implementation process, it also offers higher user efficiency.
Over the last five years, Technia has completed over 20 customer implementations of ENOVIA’s Engineering Central. To be able to meet the customer’s different demands, Technia’s consultants and engineers have made adjustments or improvements in these Engineering Central implementations with the help of TVCs (Technical Value Components).
“We have taken all the experiences we gained from these 20 plus implementations and made a service offering called the Engineering Optimizer. It is a service package we know almost everyone who is about to implement Engineering Central demands,” says Magnus Falkman, manager product development, at Technia in Stockholm. The benefits of the Engineering Optimizer are many. For one, the implementation of a PLM system for an organization will be shortened.
“From the user’s perspective, they will be a lot more effective while working in the PLM system due to the simplified interface. But, there is also the perspective of cost of ownership in relation to the IT organization that will maintain and supervise the system. Instead of a customized solution, the Engineering Optimizer offers a whole package to which we continuously will be making improvements. A customized system is always more expensive to maintain,” says Falkman.
Technia has been offering TVCs for some time. The biggest difference between TVCs and the Engineering Optimizer is that TVCs are generic products that can be used for several different tasks. The Engineering Optimizer offers predefined configurations of the TVCs specifically for engineering companies.
One group of users that will benefit from the Engineering Optimizer is the SmarTeam users. When they transfer to ENOVIA, there are benefits of using TVCs and the Engineering Optimizer.
“The business value we can offer our customers when using TVCs and Engineering Optimizer in an implementation of ENOVIA is a predefined template, a readymade solution which we have trimmed in advance based on our extensive experience. The implementation period will be shorter, since there are fewer configurations to be made. It is more cost effective that way. Also, there is higher user efficiency once the implementation has been made. This makes the return of investment quicker,” concludes Johan Lindström, Technia head of sales development and communication.
