FISHER/UNITECH announced its acquisition of Roney Software for Manufacturing Inc.'s SolidWorks software business. SolidWorks 3D computer-aided design (CAD) software provides best-in-class tools for product design, validation, technical communications and data management. Roney Software for Manufacturing, located in Girard, PA, will continue to provide computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) solutions to the design and manufacturing market. As a result of this acquisition, Roney Software's SolidWorks customers will benefit from immediate access to new products and value-added services from FISHER/UNITECH.

Customers will have access to toll free phone and online support utilizing FISHER/UNITECH's SupportExpress platform. SupportExpress includes online reporting and tracking of technical support cases, live chat, online bill paying, e-commerce functionality, and a "virtual advisor" for instant remote technical support sessions including data transfer. Maintenance subscribers can take advantage of SELive, an online chat application fully embedded into SolidWorks software. SolidWorks users simply download SELive from http://supportexpresslive.com, install the program and launch a technical support chat session directly from the SolidWorks Task Pane.
