GRAITEC GmbH and CSI, the 2 German Subsidiaries of GRAITEC Group, Merge on January 1st, 2011
GRAITEC, a major worldwide developer for structural analysis and detailing software announced the merger of its two German subsidiaries, GRAITEC GmbH and CSI, effective on January 1st, 2011. This merger will combine competencies of both teams and will be effective under the entity of GRAITEC GmbH. The merged GRAITEC GmbH will operate at new common headquarters in Essen starting February 1st, 2011.
GRAITEC GmbH, based in Oberhausen, joined the GRAITEC Group in 2002 (previously called DSC CAD/CAM-Technologien GmbH) and contributed particularly with its expertise in steel construction: HyperSteel software served as the technical platform in the development of Advance Steel. Then the company widened its product range by adding the CAD software Advance Concrete. The CAD software solutions, Advance Concrete and Advance Steel, are now very successful on the German market of civil engineering (over 1500 licenses are used daily in Germany).
CSI GmbH, based in Dortmund, has been in the civil engineering industry for 30 years. Specialized in the development of professional structural design solutions for the German speaking market, CSI joined the GRAITEC Group in 2008. Over the last few years, the development of the Structural BIM Solution "GRAITEC Advance" profited from the expertise of CSI in the field of structural design. The software solution CS-Pons (renamed Advance Bridge) for bridge construction is developed by CSI in Germany and aims to be offered worldwide.
Francis GUILLEMARD, GRAITEC CEO, comments: "This strategic merger of two experienced and successful software companies will combine their expertise and definitely offer a unique Structural BIM Solution in Germany, Switzerland and Austria which will allow Engineering and Design Offices to create their structures and produce technical drawings from the same model."
Therefore GRAITEC is now offering a complete BIM solution for steel and concrete construction and the fields of structural design, framework and finite element analysis according to Eurocode in the German speaking market.
Thomas LANGENSIEPEN, who will hold the function of General Manager of GRAITEC GmbH, adds: "The fusion of our two companies is the answer to increasing requirements of the market. It is a logical step for extending and optimizing the product range by combining knowledge and resources."
The new headquarters of GRAITEC GmbH will be a modern and prominent office building in the city center of Essen, starting February 1st, 2011. It will offer well-equipped seminar rooms and space for further growth.
