Robert Courteau Named President of SAP North America
SAP AG announced the appointment of Robert Courteau as president of its North America region. Courteau will report to Robert Enslin, who has been named to an expanded leadership role as president of Global Sales for SAP. The moves come with the restructuring of the company's Global Field Organization (GFO) (see "SAP Realigns Global Field Organization").
As president of SAP North America, Courteau is responsible for all of SAP's business operations in the U.S. and Canada, reporting to Enslin. Prior to this appointment, he served as chief operating officer (COO) for SAP's GFO. In that role, he was responsible for the overall performance of operations throughout the company's regional sales, ecosystem, services and sales support teams. Enslin now moves into the GFO as president of Global Sales, responsible for empowering regions worldwide to best serve customers and promote the broad spectrum of existing and new SAP® solutions.
During his tenure at SAP, Courteau has held various senior executive and sales management positions, gaining profound expertise across a broad spectrum of the SAP product portfolio and markets. His stations include COO for SAP North America, where he led areas such as channel sales of solutions for small and midsize enterprises (SMEs), industry-specific solutions and business "value engineering" for customers; and executive vice president responsible for revenues generated from business intelligence (BI) solutions from the SAP® BusinessObjects™ portfolio. He joined SAP in 2004 as president and managing director of SAP Canada.
During more than 20 years in the technology industry, Courteau has held many executive and senior management positions with a variety of multinational corporations and industry pioneers. This experience included his roles as executive vice president, EDS Corporation and at Xerox Corporation, where he served as a North American divisional vice president and general manager.
