Tyco Electronics Selects SpaceClaim for Global 3D Concept Modeling Solution
SpaceClaim announced that Tyco Electronics has selected SpaceClaim Engineer for concept modeling, bid modeling, and model preparation for CAE simulation. SpaceClaim is being deployed as a global, enterprise solution for engineers across all Tyco Electronics (TE) business segments.
"TE has a strong commitment to R&D, engineering, and lean product development, with our global design centers working closely with customers to develop application-specific, highly engineered products and systems," said Andreas Hintz, Manager of Enterprise CAD/CAE/CAM for TE. "We identified the need for a 3D design tool for engineers involved in concept modeling and simulation that was easy to deploy and use, didn't require intensive training and yet was precise, powerful, and worked with our existing CAD and CAE tools. SpaceClaim met the key requirements of our global business units and our pilot test feedback was very positive."
"TE is a highly respected company, engineering some of the world's leading electronic components, products and systems," said Chris Randles, President and CEO, SpaceClaim. "SpaceClaim's flexibility in model creation and manipulation supports early interaction with customers and collaboration with all participants in the design cycle. Our customers have told us repeatedly that SpaceClaim has reduced time-to-market by up to 50 percent and enabled them to win more business with SpaceClaim Engineer. We welcome the opportunity to work with the global team at TE as they continue to drive innovation and develop new products."
