Raytion Expands its Family of Enterprise Search Connectors
Raytion, the internationally operating IT business consultancy and specialist in enterprise search and content integration, has expanded its range of enterprise search connectors to include archived emails and content stored in Symantec Enterprise Vault, thus enabling secure access to information from yet another mission-critical information system.
Along with the new connector, major updates to Raytion's existing connectors for Microsoft SharePoint, Oracle UCM and SAP NetWeaver Portal have been released, which now support the most recent versions of these platforms.
The Raytion Enterprise Search Connectors complement the search technologies of the major search engine vendors such as Microsoft FAST, the Google SearchAppliance, ExaleadCloudView and Oracle SES. Having received the "Trend Setting Product 2010" award from KMWorld last year, they were the only product in its category to be selected and given this distinction.
"Our years of real-world enterprise search project expertise and knowledge have gone into building our growing family of enterprise search connectors," says Valentin Richter, CEO of Raytion. "The second generation of our connectors support enhanced security and scalability and we are currently working on the third generation, which will help improve IT governance," he adds.
The connectors enable organizations to securely retrieve information from their main enterprise applications like content and document management systems, enterprise portals, collaboration and messaging platforms and product lifecycle management systems. The connectors respect the complex security policies of these underlying source systems, are event driven and reliably scale to the volume of documents within these systems.
"In addition to meeting the necessary functional requirements like performing content updates and extracting security permissions, our connectors address the important requirements of scalability, reliability and performance," says Sebastian Klatt, Director of Business Developmentat Raytion, adding that "These are the critical factors when implementing large-scale search solutions."
The Raytion Enterprise Search Connectors share the same robust and thoroughly tested core components and are delivered with a user-friendly management interface. This facilitates their integration into existing environments and assists in effectively managing the integration of single or multiple repositories of the same or different systems. The connectors are built using Raytion's internal connector framework and are based on the same architecture that eases extending the connector family with connectors for additional and customized content repositories.
Connectors to other systems such as EMC Documentum, Microsoft Exchange, SAP PLM and Xerox DocuShare, among others, are also part of the Raytion Enterprise Search Connector family.
