Cadac Organice Issues Case Study about Project Collaboration in SharePoint

Cadac Organice has issued a case study about Engineering Project Collaboration in SharePoint.

One of the main features of project-driven engineering industries is that companies collaborate in project teams. In the AEC project teams consist of architects and one or more engineering and construction companies. And in the owner/operator market, owners collaborate with EPC or EPCM contractors, sub contractors, vendors and suppliers.

To collaborate in project teams, it is very important that information is shared and exchanged in an efficient manner. But how do you efficiently share and exchange documents? How to ensure everyone has access to the right information? How to manage and control document distribution? How to ensure everyone is aware of their tasks? Collaboration requires a flexible environment for managing, sharing and exchanging information and documents.

It is not always possible to communicate with project partners in a uniform way. Some partners still depend or paper, for example due to legal reasons. Other partners are able to communicate through email, and exchange documents as an attachment or through FTP. And sometimes partners are able to collaborate fully digital in an extranet environment. Either way, you need to be able to support any form of collaboration with external project partners.

Cadac Organice has issued a case study about Engineering Project Collaboration in Microsoft SharePoint. The case study describes how project teams are able to manage and share documents with internal disciplines and external partners. It describes how documents can be exchanged on paper, through email or extranet collaboration, in line with individual requirements, capabilities and contractual relationships.
