New Webcast Focuses on Simulation for the Electronics Industry

Thermal design challenges in electronics systems and components can determine the success or failure of many products. A new Autodesk webcast is now available, exploring how common challenges encountered by electronics manufacturers can be solved earlier in the design process, resulting in reduced design verification cost and testing time, and greater empowerment of engineering teams to perform detailed simulations. Topics covered in the webinar include the use of Autodesk Simulation software to:

  • Predict system and component temperatures
  • Determine the most effective designs for electronics heat dissipation
  • Assess optimal component configurations and fan placements
  • Decrease the risk of warranty failures

The virtual event also shows how several customers are already using Autodesk Simulation software to predict electronics performance and to design with confidence:

Sechan Electronics, Inc., used Autodesk Simulation CFD software to more accurately predict thermal performance of a new digital fire control system. Sechan estimates that the simulation was completed four months faster than with traditional prototyping and testing methods.

SureFire, LLC, a manufacturer of high-end flashlights and other illumination tools for the U.S. military and law enforcement officers, used Autodesk Simulation CFD to predict the timing of laser diode failure, based on a visualized temperature field.

The Autodesk Simulation product line provides the complete tools required during the process from design to manufacturing, such as:

Autodesk Simulation CFD computational fluid dynamics tools for fluid flow and thermal simulations

Autodesk Simulation Moldflow for optimizing plastic parts, injection molds and the injection molding process

Autodesk Simulation Mechanical for static stress and linear dynamics and mechanical event simulation.
