Geometric to Display Automation Solutions for Design and Machining at DieMould 2012

Geometric Limited will demonstrate the latest releases of its solid-based CNC programming solution, CAMWorks® 2012, and its automated design for manufacturability solution, DFMPro, at Booth #A8, Hall #1, Bombay Exhibition Centre, in Goregaon, Mumbai, India at the DieMould 2012, from April 19-22, 2012.

“The Die & Mould Industry consistently strives to improve efficiencies to maximize productivity, and quickly meet the needs of its customers. At Geometric, we understand the nuances of the workings of this industry, and customize our solutions to meet their unique needs. Our products like DFMPro help in validating the designs in terms of manufacturing feasibility at the design stage, hence reducing the downstream rework; while CAMWorks’ machining strategies allow users to machine complex parts with minimal efforts, saving time and money,” says Sambit Pradhan, Business Development Manager – APAC at Geometric.

Attendees will get an opportunity to see the new features included in CAMWorks 2012 that help manufacturers program more effectively, and turn virtual CAD models into reality. This includes demonstrations of ElectrodeWorks™- Electrodes for CAMWorks, an optional electrode design solution that automates the entire process of calculation and design of EDM electrodes, including design, management, documentation, and manufacturing. In addition, there will be a demonstration of CAMWorks VoluMill®, the ultra high-performance toolpath for 2.5 and 3 axis high speed milling. With VoluMill toolpaths, programming and cycle times can be reduced to a great extent, and the life of the cutting tool can also significantly increase as it places less stress on the machine tool.

During the event, Geometric will also showcase the latest functionalities of DFMPro, a tool for the validation of the manufacturability of a designed product. By checking models for manufacturability upfront, DFMPro helps engineers address the problem of repetitive design revisions. It also helps validate designs based on best practices. The new Casting capabilities of the product will be showcased at the event, along with the existing checks for Injection Molding, Sheet Metal, and Machining.
