Visual 2000 Sets New Standard for PLM Usability with Visual PLM.net® S Edition

Visual 2000 International Inc. will unveil its newly redesigned Visual PLM.net® S fashion lifecycle management solution on January 16 at the NRF 101st Annual Convention and Expo in New York. Representing the fifth major release of the software, the S-Edition raises the bar for user experience and responsiveness as the first fashion PLM solution to fully leverage the new Microsoft® Silverlight® 5 development tools and Windows Azure™ cloud platform. Key among the many new and enhanced features included in Visual PLM.net® S are drag-and-drop design and storyboard capabilities, multi-level line planning tools, digital asset management with file streaming, integrated Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards, and advanced workflow management.

According to Visual 2000 Vice President of Research and Development Charles Benoualid, “With its engaging and interactive user experience, the S-Edition represents a major milestone for fashion PLM. In addition to being our most configurable and easy to use system ever, it gives our customers the freedom to securely implement either in-house or on the Microsoft cloud without the usual IT hassles of deploying across multiple operating systems and browsers.”

Leveraging the latest Silverlight development tools, Visual PLM.net® S gives users richer, deeper interactivity than previously available by introducing more than forty new user enhancements; including improved video quality, media support, content display, and performance improvements. The new Version 5 system is also fully supported on Windows Azure, an open cloud platform that provides companies with an option to quickly deploy and manage applications across a global network of Microsoft-managed datacenters.

Noteworthy technical features and benefits of the S-Edition include a fully configurable user interface with drag-and-drop screen designer, field-level security, multilingual language support (localization), and more dynamic database configuration to accommodate changing client needs.
