Aras Announces Availability of Cadence OrCAD Connector

Aras® announced the availability of the OrCAD Connector for Aras. Developed by Aras partner CycleOp, the OrCAD Connector provides a seamless and secure, bidirectional integration to Cadence’s OrCAD, saving time, eliminating manual data entry and improving the accuracy of Bill of Materials (BOM) and other product-related information managed by Aras’s PLM platform.

With the OrCAD Connector for Aras, electronic design engineers manage layout configurations more effectively and all PCB children are linked with matching part numbers, reference designators and instances. Designers create and update BOM and schematic data directly from within the OrCAD environment, and both DSN and PDF files are seamlessly saved as part of the overall product configuration in Aras and can be included in Aras change processes. Rule-based settings enable customization of the integration connector without complex programming.

“Integrating EDA with the PLM backbone for mechanical CAD, software and firmware lifecycle processes is essential for a complete systems engineering approach,” said Peter Schroer, President of Aras. “Robust connectivity with the electronic design tools means much greater personal productivity for global design team members and seamless coordination of all product-related information managed by our PLM platform.”For more information on the OrCAD Connector for Aras visit http://aras.com/plm/001391
