CIMdata Publishes “Solid Edge Insight XT”
CIMdata, Inc., the leading global PLM management consulting and research firm announces a new paper about Solid Edge Insight XT, the next generation of Siemens PLM Software’s Insight data management solution. Built on the widely used Microsoft SharePoint platform, Insight XT provides Solid Edge customers with a solid data and process management solution that is easy to implement and use. Building on a decade of Insight experience (Siemens PLM Software’s other Solid Edge data management solution), and leveraging new SharePoint features, Siemens PLM Software now offers Solid Edge Insight XT, a new offering that leverages the best of the original Insight solution while providing significantly enhanced transparent and seamlessly Internet-enabled collaborative design management functionality for Solid Edge users.
Siemens PLM Software designed Insight XT to benefit Solid Edge MCAD installations in their traditional market segments: mechanical machinery and equipment, electrical and electronic equipment, plant equipment layout and design, automotive components, and tooling for jigs and fixtures. Siemens PLM Software positions Insight XT as a design management solution that enables “design data management and collaboration” for Solid Edge design departments in firms that do not require full-featured, extensive, and more expensive PLM solutions and who have neither the time nor the resources to invest in such implementations. The paper describes the added value of this new solution for Solid Edge customers, and how the Microsoft SharePoint platform enables them to leverage their existing IT infrastructure to immediately benefit from the integration of design data and processes with their other business processes.
