Dassault Systèmes Announces Gemcom Software International Transaction Completed

Dassault Systèmes today confirmed the completion of the acquisition of Gemcom Software International (Gemcom), initially announced on April 26, 2012.

Upon the agreement, Dassault Systèmes acquired 100% of geological modeling and simulation company Gemcom for approximately US$360 million, in an all cash transaction. Gemcom is expected to be immediately accretive to Dassault Systèmes non-IFRS earnings and neutral to its non-IFRS operating margin.

Headquartered in Vancouver, Gemcom is in the mining industry software solutions industry, with $90 million revenue in 2011 and 2,200 customer locations.

Rick Moignard, former CEO of Gemcom, becomes the CEO of the newly created GEOVIA brand. Gemcom’s 360 employees and management remain in place and continue serving the mining industry. By leading the new GEOVIA organization, Gemcom now champions the further development of Dassault Systèmes’ strategy of modeling the natural world, expanding 3DEXPERIENCE to Nature
