Knovel and Society of Manufacturing Engineers Partner to Expand Knovel Offerings, Extend SME's Global Reach

Knovel has teamed with the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), to offer 37 SME publications through Knovel's new Manufacturing Engineering Subject Area. The partnership gives Knovel expanded coverage on topics such as manufacturing processes, die design, materials forming and maintenance of machines.

Knovel, which launched its Manufacturing Engineering subject area in June, offers SME an opportunity to extend its publications' reach further into the corporate engineering community. With Knovel, SME can offer resources not only to manufacturing engineers, but also to mechanical engineers who need to consider manufacturing processes in an integrated design environment. This information sharing potential is a crucial benefit as engineers work to build better products.

"SME's depth of knowledge, especially in the practical side of the manufacturing process, is a great complement to our current content offerings," said Delores Meglio, vice president of publisher relations for Knovel. "As a highly trusted resource for engineering practitioners, SME was a natural partnership for us."

"Manufacturing practitioners have long recognized the value of SME offerings," said Mark Tomlinson, executive director and CEO for the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. "By partnering with Knovel, we are able to expand the reach of those offerings into the corporate engineering marketplace and around the globe."

Knovel partners with more than 90 societies and publishers worldwide to ensure engineers have access to trusted sources of technical content across 29 engineering subject areas. For more information about Knovel, please visit: http://why.knovel.com/solution/content.html.
