GRAPHISOFT Signs MOU with Shanghai’s Luban Software

GRAPHISOFT Vice President of Business Development Miklos Szovenyi-Lux and Baoming Yang, Chairman of Luban, signed the Memorandum setting out the terms of their strategic partnership. Luban is one of China’s top developers of cost estimation software for the construction industry.

Luban and GRAPHISOFT have agreed to establish a Luban-GRAPHISOFT Strategic Partnership Program with the following objectives: to promote and implement Building Information Modeling (BIM) in China’s AEC industry; to strengthen the product integration, the brand and influence of Luban and GRAPHISOFT on the OPEN BIM design collaboration approach, thus supporting the growth of BIM in China; and contributing to the technical development of China’s AEC industry. With a 40% share of China’s cost estimation software market, Luban is keen on partnering with GRAPHISOFT so that ArchiCAD models developed in China will meet customer and regulatory needs.

During the course of the next three years, Luban and GRAPHISOFT will work closely to develop a connection between the respective company’s products; create a BIM solution that is tailored to the Chinese market; implement BIM for bids, design, quantities, costs and construction management; and provide complete, BIM-based solutions at both the project and company levels.
