More Power for VERICUT 7.2 - Previewing at MACH 2012

CGTech Ltd will demonstrate the next release of VERICUT CNC machine simulation and optimisation software on stand 5230 at MACH 2012.

VERICUT 7.2 features many enhancements to improve speed, thereby reducing the time required for manufacturing engineers to develop, analyse, inspect and document the CNC programming and machining process. Along with proactively adding new features, CGTech developers and engineers are focusing on implementing hundreds of customer-driven enhancements and also harnessing the power of Windows 7 with 64-Bit multi-core processors to deliver greater performance.

VERICUT Product/Function Overview:

VERICUT is CNC machine simulation, verification and optimisation software that enables users to eliminate the process of manually proving-out NC programs. It reduces scrap loss and rework. The program also optimizes NC programs in order to both save time and produce higher quality surface finish. VERICUT simulates all types of CNC machine tools, including those from leading manufacturers such as Mori Seiki, Mazak, Makino, Matsuura, Hermle, DMG and Chiron. VERICUT runs standalone, and integrates with leading CADCAM systems such as Dassault Systemes CATIA, Siemens NX, Creo Parametric (Pro/E), Open Mind’s hyperMILL, Delcam’s PowerMILL, MasterCAM, Edgecam and GibbsCAM.

More Processing Power

“For VERICUT 7.2 we continue to focus on the customer's use of VERICUT and how we can improve the simulation process speed and effectiveness,” said John Reed, CGTech Ltd Managing Director, “We added features to the user interface to simplify the most common user actions and invested significant developer effort to increase speed by more thoroughly taking advantage of multiple processors and background processing.” The result is that VERICUT 7.2 is significantly faster than previous versions with no compromise on accuracy”.

Enhanced Optipath Feed Rate Optimisation

Another new feature is the ability to optimise an NC program from a saved simulation. Users can adjust and re-optimize without rerunning the simulation. A new interactive panel displays cutting conditions immediately anywhere in the machining process. The user can navigate the NC program to evaluate cutting conditions and quickly see the results of adjustments to optimisation settings.

More Cadcam Integration

VERICUT is firmly established as the world’s leading independent CNC Simulation and Verification software. This has driven demand for more interfaces to popular CADCAM systems and visitors to the CGTech stand at MACH 2012 will be able to see new interfaces to Delcam’s FeatureCAM, SolidCAM and Esprit.

A New Vericut Composite Applications Product

CGTech will also be demonstrating VERICUT Composite Applications at MACH 2012. VERICUT Composite Applications are machine-independent off-line programming and simulation software solutions for automated composite tape and fiber-placement CNC machines. There are three separate applications: VERICUT Composite Programming (VCP) and VERICUT Composite Simulation (VCS) are already released to the market. A third module, VERICUT Composites Paths for Engineers (VCPe) will be launched in the UK at the MACH show. VCPe has all the features of VCP but is not configured to program a specific Automated Fibre Placement (AFP) machine. VCPe provides software tools to allow a design or production engineers to evaluate strategies and test the manufacturability of layup methods for composites parts.
