Altair China Receives 10-Year Software Industry Achievement Award

Altair Engineering, Inc. announced that Altair China (www.altair.com.cn) has been honored with a 10-Year Achievement Award as a leading enterprise in China’s software and information service industry from 2001 to 2011. The award was presented at the China 2011 Software Conference by the China Software Industry Association (www.csia.org.cn) and the China Electronic Information Industry Development Academy (www.ccidgroup.com), and was based on criteria such as technical capabilities, innovative product offerings, strategic planning, business growth, brand awareness and customer service. Altair China was the only CAE solution provider to earn a prize at the event.

“We’re delighted that Altair China has earned this honor; it’s the best gift we could receive for our 10th anniversary,” said Herbert Qi, general manager of Altair Greater China. “In the past 10 years, we always have increased our ability to make customers the most competitive in their respective industries. Our good products and special technical service win our customers’ long-term support and trust, and we’ll be inspired by this honor to create more success in the future. ”

Altair’s business has developed rapidly since it entered the China market. Today, the company’s Shanghai-based unit has more than 70 employees and has exceeded 30 percent growth in the last five years. To provide customized service for its users in Northern China, Altair China set up a Beijing branch in 2005.

Altair entered the China market in July 2001, setting up Altair Engineering Software (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. as Altair’s China office, which managed the company’s operations for mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

Altair China’s customer base has increased steadily. In 2008, ASUS (www.asus.com) chose the Altair HyperWorks (www.altairhyperworks.com.cn) suite for consumer product engineering. In 2009, Chery Auto (www.chery.cn) selected Altair as its brand product-development platform partner. In 2010, Commercial Aircraft Corporation (www.comac.cc) began relying on HyperWorks and PBS Works (www.pbsworks.com.cn) as its CAE and HPC platforms for the development of large aircraft. This year, Shanghai Mitsubishi Elevator (www.smec-cn.com) selected HyperWorks as the CAE tool for product development.
