Aurora Flight Sciences Selects VectorCAST to Leverage MathWorks® Simulink® Model Test Vectors for Code Based Testing
Vector Software announced that Aurora Flight Sciences, a manufacturer of advanced aerospace vehicles, has selected Vector Software’s VectorCAST embedded software testing platform to support DO-178B software testing.
Aurora Flight Sciences, headquartered in Manassas Virginia, specializes in the design and construction of Unmanned Aircraft Vehicles (UAVs) for military applications, such as surveillance, reconnaissance, and strike.
Aurora’s development team chose Vector Software’s VectorCAST/C++™ to automate the software testing on the control systems in their unmanned aircraft. Aurora chose VectorCAST for its robust capabilities and integration with MathWorks® Simulink®. The integration enabled the reuse of previously generated model test vectors resulting in a significant savings of time normally allocated to building and re-executing tests in code and target based environments.
“Our test tool evaluation team considered a number of other applications for software testing. We ultimately chose VectorCAST for its integration and reuse capability with Simulink”, stated Larry Rogers, Avionics Software Manager for Aurora Flight Sciences. “We have over 40,000 Simulink test cases that can now be imported and executed in the VectorCAST environment automatically”.
