Scia Engineer 2012 Tested and Certified to Run on Mac OSX Under Parallels

The Nemetschek Engineering Group is pleased to announce that Scia Engineer 2012 has been tested and certified to run on Apple Macintosh OS X Hardware using Parallels. Now, structural and civil engineers can feel confident running Scia Engineer alongside their favorite Macintosh OS X software.

“With ArchiCAD, the Allplan/Parallels software bundle, Cinema 4D, Vectorworks, and now Scia Engineer, Nemetschek supports more Macintosh designer than any other AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) software developer,” says Jean-Pierre Rammant, CEO, Nemetschek Engineering Business Unit. “As we expand our product portfolio and introduce our software into emerging markets being able to support the global Macintosh design community is key to our corporate strategy.”

Scia Engineer 2012 has been tested on Mac OS X with Parallels Desktop 7 virtualization software. The specifications used during the tests:

  •     MacBook Pro 15” Intel Core i7 2,4 GHz CPU
  •     6 GB DDR3 RAM memory
  •     AMD Radeon HD 6770M with 1 GB RAM
  •     1440 x 900 pixels screen resolution
  •     750 GB 5400 RPM hard drive

Software

  •     Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3
  •     Parallels Desktop 7
  •     Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
  •     Scia Engineer (tested from version 2011)
