Actify Opens New Office in Edinburgh, Scotland

Actify Inc. today announced the Grand Opening celebration of a new office in Edinburgh, Scotland. This new office will be shared with ShapeSpace Ltd., developer of search technology for CAD. The Edinburgh office signifies yet another milestone in the company's history following a successful fiscal year; Actify continues to lay down the foundations for further growth.

"The new Actify office in Edinburgh has founder of ShapeSpace and Actify VP of Engineering, Dr. Andrew Sherlock at the helm and is already proving to be an important Research & Development hub for Actify," said Chris Jones, Actify President & CEO. "With all of the wonderful talent we've managed to bring aboard in Edinburgh, we know we've made the right decision," continued Jones. "This opportunity was made possible due in great part to Scottish Development International (SDI) who have been integral in helping Actify discover the benefits and opportunities that Scotland has to offer. These are very exciting times for the company."

David Smith, director of innovation and enterprise services, Scottish Enterprise, said: "That a globally successful company such as Actify has chosen to invest in Scotland is testament to our growing reputation as the ideal place to locate and do business. We've worked closely with ShapeSpace providing a range of support including account management and assistance with exploring new markets and overseas territories. This then led to partnership opportunities with Actify who we've supported with £100,000 of RSA to help establish a new centre of excellence for collaborative R&D in Scotland."

"We know that increasingly, companies have a range of choices as to where to locate and it's our role to make sure that investors know that Scotland is very much open for business and ready to compete on an international scale. Actify chose Scotland for its extensive expertise and labour pool in the software industry and we look forward to helping them realise their ambitious growth plans."
