PLM Innovation Americas 2012: First North America Event Off to a Great Start
CIMdata, Inc., the leading global PLM strategic management consulting and research firm, announces participation in the first PLM Innovation Americas 2012 conference near Atlanta, Georgia. With about 165 delegates and speakers, PLM Innovation is presented by MarketKey, headquartered in the UK. The theme of the conference is innovation empowered by PLM. This conference follows two previous PLM conferences held in Europe.
CIMdata’s role in the conference is to chair and facilitate the overall event and both main tracks of presentations. Highlights of this year’s event are the keynote speakers. The first-day speakers included: Kevin Fowler, Chief Architect Commercial Airplanes Processes & Tools, The Boeing Company (The sky’s the limit? Reaching for the value of PLM at Boeing Commercial Airplanes); Nathan Hartman, Associate Professor of Computer Graphics Technology, Purdue University (Model-based Collaborative Enterprise: Challenges, Opportunities, and the Future of PLM); and Peter Bilello, President, CIMdata (Evaluating the Tangible Benefits of PLM Can Prove Complex).
These presentations were augmented by two tracks of more detailed discussions by PLM users, panel discussions, and work sessions on various PLM topics.
The sponsors’ exhibit area featured 27 companies and demonstrated a high level of energy from the attendees who were eager to learn more about what the various sponsors have to offer in support of their PLM strategies.
The event continues on Friday with more breakout sessions on a number of topics and another group of compelling keynote addresses including: Dantar Oosterwal, President and Partner, Milwaukee Consulting Group (Lean Product Development & Excellence in PLM); Christophe Boudard, PLM Director, The Coca Cola Company (PLM at the World's Biggest Brand); David Karamian, Senior Director, IT, Design and PLM systems, Flextronics (Enabling PLM in the Contract and Electronic Manufacturing Services (CM/EMS)); and Michael Grieves, PLM Author, Consultant, Professor, NASA (A Virtually Perfect Future).
