ZW3D 2012 SP2 Released with a More Efficient and Intelligent Mold Design Module
ZWSOFT, a supplier of 2D and 3D CAD/CAM solutions to the AEC and MCAD industry, today officially announced the release of Service Pack 2 for ZW3D 2012. The major improvement in this pack is the more efficient and intelligent mold design module. It provides features including project management, multi-product design, multi-cavity design as well as faster patching, which helps designers manage mold projects and improve design efficiency.
In the cost-effective CAD/CAM package of ZW3D 2012, the whole-process mold design solution has been a well-received feature. This time service pack 2 takes the mold design experience further by providing the following improvements:
More easily manage mold projects with assembly mode & extended assembly reference
For a mold design that consists of a lot of parts, it may not be easy work for designer to check every detail in the drawing. If there’s a mode that enables designers to view every part in a classified order, it would be a huge time saver. In ZW3D 2012 SP2, the new project management function solves this problem perfectly. In the project file with Assembly Mode, when you click the command Mold Project Tools & Prating Design Tools on any part, the system will automatically activate the corresponding file. It is a more intelligent management mode that gives users more convenient operations.
Often there might be modifications needed for certain parts in the mold project when the designer spots a drafting error or has new needs. It would take a lot of time and may lead to inaccuracy of the final design if we just modify this certain part and the relevant assembly parts step by step. The intelligent association between assembly parts of the Extended Assembly Reference in ZW3D 2012 SP2 will accomplish the modification blazingly fast and accurate. It provides three types of references: Non-associative reference, Associative reference without timestamp, and Associative reference with timestamp.
Efficiently make complex multi-product and multi-cavity designs
There are also new features in this service pack making it easy to design several different products or multiple cavities for a product in one mold project. It helps designers reduce a lot of manual work.
For complex molds with inner holes, Parting Shape (the automatic method) and Inner Edge (the manual method) just takes a few seconds to finish the patching, which also improves design efficiency.
