Lattice Technology Releases iXVL Publisher v2.0

Lattice Technology, Inc.,  announced the availability of their latest version of iXVL Publisher.

Lattice Technology’s iXVL Publisher is a PC-based application that allows manufacturing companies to make product data and associated interactive 3D models available on mobile devices.  Examples of product data include assembly trees, part properties from the CAD system and other information authored in the Lattice Technology environment such as notes, measurements and 3D interactive snapshots.

With the release of v2.0, manufacturing work instructions are now available for viewing on Apple iOS devices such as the iPad®. Ultra-fast viewing on mobile devices is accomplished by the lightweight model representation of XVL®.  Using XVL, file sizes are typically 99% smaller than the original CAD model–while still maintaining model accuracy. Anyone with the free iXVL Player app from the Apple Store™ can view the 3D models (full assemblies, sub-assemblies and parts) and their associated product data from virtually anywhere.

“Our mission is to support the manufacturing company with powerful, yet affordable tools that leverage 3D design data across the entire enterprise,” explained Bill Barnes, Lattice Technology general manager for Americas and Europe. “Our latest release of iXVL Publisher is versatile and easy to use and allows inclusion of work instructions for mobile devices. Mobile viewing of 3D product data and its associated information has never been easier or more impactful.”

Lattice Technology’s latest version of their iXVL Publisher provides authoring of HTML5-based work instructions that can be viewed with the iXVL Player for iOS. For each manufacturing work task, the user can display either the assembled or disassembled view of the related parts.

The ultra-lightweight XVL format benefits companies who develop products with high part counts, complex geometry, detailed manufacturing processes or any on-going lifecycle support requirements such as documentation, maintenance, and training.  Target industries range from those developing products such as airplanes and automobiles to machinery and medical devices.
