IFS and NEC Launch Solution for the Food and Beverage Industry in Thailand
IFS and NEC Corporation announce the launch of an extension to IFS Applications, the enterprise applications suite, for the Thai food and beverage industry. The extension is the result of a joint project involving both companies and can be implemented as a NEC cloud computing service or as a standard server solution.
The extension has been developed to meet the demands of companies within the food and beverage industry that plan and produce main products, co-products and by-products from one raw material in a single process, such as dairies and meat processing plants. The solution also includes rich functionality for trade management as an essential part of the distribution process.
The solution is a joint offer from IFS and NEC and will initially be presented to the Thai market. The two companies have many customers worldwide within the food and beverage industry. By combining the two companies’ extensive industry experiences, IFS and NEC can offer companies a true best-practice industry solution. The solution is available as an extension of IFS Applications 7.5 SP5 and can be deployed as a standard server solution or as a NEC cloud computing service. The solution will later be launched in other Asian markets.
Process manufacturing is one of IFS’s targeted markets. IFS provides industry-specific functionality for enterprises in chemicals, food & beverage, paint & ink, and pharmaceuticals. IFS Applications™ supports all critical business processes, including material compliance, batch balancing, recipe management, quality management and demand planning. The application suite also includes solutions for enterprise asset management, product lifecycle management, customer relationship management, finance and human resource management.
IFS process manufacturing customers include Jotun, Flint Group, Dyrup, Willamette Valley Company, Akzo Nobel, Becker Acroma, Farrow & Ball, Teknos and Becker Industrial Coatings, Pepsi, PFX Pet Supply, Chingford Fruit, Imerys, SSAB, Hutmen, Nucor Corp, Holmen Paper and SCA Graphics.
