Raydium Broadens Adoption of Berkeley Design Automation Analog FastSPICE™ Platform for TFT-LCD System ICs

Berkeley Design Automation, Inc., today announced that Raydium Semiconductor Corporation, a global provider of integrated circuit (IC) solutions for TFT-LCD panels, has broadened the adoption of the company’s Analog FastSPICE (AFS) Platform across their design teams for complex analog circuit verification of display and power ICs.

“We initially deployed the AFS Platform because it delivered nanometer SPICE accuracy 5x faster than our existing limited-accuracy digital FastSPICE simulator for our CDR circuits,” said Dr. Chin-Chieh Chao, Vice President at Raydium. “Since our initial deployment, the AFS Platform has consistently delivered nanometer SPICE accuracy 5x-10x faster for our display and power ICs for TFT-LCD applications and as a result we are broadening the adoption of the product across our design teams.”

The Analog FastSPICE Platform provides the fast circuit verification for nanometer analog, RF, mixed-signal, and custom digital circuits. Foundry certified to 20nm, the AFS Platform delivers nanometer SPICE accuracy 5x-10x faster on a single core and 2x-4x faster on multicore systems versus any other simulator. For circuit characterization, the AFS Platform includes the industry’s only comprehensive silicon-accurate device noise analysis and delivers near-linear performance scaling with the number of cores. For large circuits, it delivers >10M-element capacity, the fastest near-SPICE-accurate simulation, and the fastest, most accurate mixed-signal simulation. Available licenses include AFS circuit simulation, AFS Transient Noise Analysis, AFS RF Analysis, AFS Co-Simulation, AFS AMS, and AFS Nano SPICE.

“We are delighted that Raydium is broadening the deployment of the Analog FastSPICE Platform across their design teams,” said Ravi Subramanian, President and CEO of Berkeley Design Automation. “Delivering competitive high-performance ICs for large-size LCD panel, mobile phone, digital camera, and AV applications is a significant challenge. Raydium's broad adoption of the AFS Platform for all these applications validates, once again, that Berkeley Design Automation is an essential partner to semiconductor companies in consumer electronics markets.”
