New Features in KRONTIME 2013
At the upcoming exhibition Industry-Lyon2013, from 16 to 19 April, KRONTIME (stand 6W68) unveils version 2013 of its software intended for Production Engineers. Three application suites meet three key industrial issues: the definition of the process, the management of the working methods and lines of operations and the planning and management of improvements.
- KRONTIME PROCESS® is a suite of products to help Process Engineers rethink the way they operate by defining manufacturing workflows, associate critical documentation, simulate the process "in context" of a production plan. It also helps analyse operational costs, follow-up on key production engineering performance indicators, analyse results and publish information for manufacturing plants.
- KRONTIME METHODS ® helps to define working methods, assign appropriate production times, allocate all required equipment resources, consider health and safety requirements, and estimate possible ergonomic risks. This software helps to work collaboratively with the quality department to determine key control steps, establish working groups, analyse results and publish information for manufacturing plants.
- KRONTIME IMPROVEMENT ® helps to determine the level of success of an improvement investment, manage the capacity and allocation of resources, define task assignment, and implement a methodology that involves customers and suppliers.
New Features and improvements
The version 2013 of the Production Engineering Reference Tool is also characterized by new features and improvements:
- A user-friendly and more productive interface : «We want to improve the experience of Production Engineers by working on ergonomics, usability and productivity» explains Jordi Portella, creator and Manager of the Software Editor. «Now, a simple mouse click on the mouse is enough. Whereas in the past, three actions were needed»
- Export to Excel Tools "A function requested by users who wish to export data to communicate with other third-party software. This new Export to Excel feature allows users to export data from anywhere in Krontime directly to MS-Excel. It can define four parameters at the same time: rows and colours, columns, it can add borders, and select export format (xls for Excel 2003 and for Excel 2007 & 2010 xlsx and txt).
- Smart features Tasks can be facilitated and time can be saved: "for example, when defining a routing process, Production Engineers sometimes wish to use standards stored in the library. This new functionality allows users to insert an element stored in the standard elements library into the required study, by simply indicating the code of the element or part of the code.
- "Break Link" Function This new functionality gives the user the possibility of manually breaking the link between an elementary operation and other studies (such as elementary operation, time studies...)
- A powerful print module: "With the new printing interface, users will be able to print Krontime reports and generate intelligent documents (PDF, Excel, Word or HTML formats) using the same menu, saving time and simplifying the whole process. The user can have use preliminary views of the printed version by specifying the page, the latest version...
