CSC Releases Orion v18
This month sees the release of Orion v18, CSC’s software for designing concrete buildings to a range of international design codes. Among many significant updates, Orion v18 offers numerous new modelling features, improved finite element analysis and enhanced member design and detailing, together with new seamless BIM integration with Autodesk® Revit® 2013 and Tekla Structures 2013.
With this latest release structural engineers can achieve faster modelling than ever before. Orion v18 also offers the design and detailing of various foundation systems including pads, pile caps, strip footings, rafts and piled rafts with eccentric piling arrangements.
Powerful new functionality has been added to enable engineers to directly export drawing details into CAD as well as provide material take offs early in the design process. Orion v18 also ensures project variations can be managed quickly by allowing the engineer to check existing designs, and then filter and redesign only those members that fail.
