CIMdata Completes 2013 Market & Industry Forum Series
CIMdata, Inc., the leading global Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) strategic management consulting and research firm announces the successful completion of its 2013 PLM Market & Industry Forum series of four global events in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA; Frankfurt, Germany; Beijing, China; and Tokyo, Japan.
CIMdata’s PLM Market & Industry Forums are the world’s premier gathering of technology and service providers focused specifically on the PLM market and the issues concerning its development and growth. Participants gathered to hear CIMdata’s perspective on the state and trends of the PLM market, as well as a detailed discussion of CIMdata’s research and viewpoints on the 2012 PLM market results. These included CIMdata’s extensive analysis and forecasts regarding market growth across PLM domains, industries, and regions, and the performance (revenue and market share analysis) of leading PLM solution providers.
The Ann Arbor, Michigan event on 9 April 2013 included representatives of 30 leading global PLM solution providers. According to the session host, Richard McFall, CIMdata’s Director of Global PLM Community, “This session is the must-attend event for leading PLM solution and service providers. For over 20 years this event has drawn companies representing a large percentage of global PLM revenues.”
The momentum continued in Frankfurt, Germany on 16 April. “This year’s forum was a great success,” claims Gerard Litjens, CIMdata’s Director of European Operations. “As in the past, senior executives of 24 leading PLM solution and service providers attested to the relevance of the Forum by fitting this day into their already busy diaries. It was great to witness a heightened level of interaction and value as the audience was very engaged, asking relevant questions and participating in lively discussions on the market numbers, systems engineering, simulation & analysis, and the other Forum topics.”
Recognizing the growing importance of the Chinese PLM market, CIMdata expanded the Forum series to Shanghai in 2012, with the session moving to Beijing in 2013. “It was my pleasure to host the CIMdata Market & Industry Forum in Beijing this year,” said Dr. Pei Huang, CEO of e-Works, a leading Chinese manufacturing IT online media and consulting company, and CIMdata’s partner in China. Mr. Huang continued, “Over 20 international and leading Chinese PLM solution and services providers attended the Beijing event. According to Dr. Huang, “the session on systems engineering created much discussion between the companies and academics in attendance. Chinese companies see the value in PLM and realize that taking a systems view will be important to competing in global markets.”
The final stop for the Forum series was Tokyo. “Fourteen PLM technology and service providers attended this year’s Japan Forum,” stated Satoshi Ezawa, Director of Japanese Operations for CIMdata. According to Mr. Ezawa, “The Japanese economy is recovering, and many Japanese companies see the need for PLM, but want their PLM solutions to be simpler and implementations to be more effective. PLM is essential for Japanese companies to remain competitive in the face of increased complexity of their products, supply chains, and the decision-making processes needed to support the lifecycle.”
