Arena Posts Five Straight Quarters of 100% Net Renewals
Arena, developer of cloud PLM applications, finished its fiscal first quarter of 2013 posting the largest number of total subscriptions and bookings in a quarter. This marked the fifth straight quarter Arena experienced net customer renewals of greater than 100%.
The quarter included the Spring 2013 product release with significant new functionality designed to offer Arena BOMControl customers — including a growing number of larger companies — new capabilities around IP control and better visibility into the entire product lifecycle. BOMControl has improved ability to provide a cost-effective solution to emerging startups while meeting the rigorous document control demands of larger companies with globally dispersed workforces.
Customer confidence in the scalability of Arena’s new functionality and easy system deployment is evident in a 24% rise in subscriptions from larger companies. "These new capabilities deliver on the promised benefits of a cloud-based PLM solution, namely: cost savings, reduced security risks and greater ROI,” says Craig Livingston, Arena’s CEO. “With an expanded feature set, we offer a cloud-based PLM solution that meets the complex financial, operational, and product lifecycle management demands of a wider range of customers.”
Arena’s services bookings doubled in the quarter as the company responded to a call for expanded services offerings from the growing number of larger manufacturers adopting cloud PLM solutions. Arena continues to rank as a PLM industry leader in customer service satisfaction. “My experience with the people at Arena has been top notch,” says Mike Park, director of operations at Tintri. “When it came to the implementation itself, we got tremendous support.”
Arena BOMControl has helped manufacturers realize the benefit of manufacturing in the cloud by providing customers around a 70% reduction in ECO cycle times and a 20% reduction in time to market. Arena’s PLM solution helped Sierra Wireless streamline its supply chain processes so dramatically they were able to release 173 new products in the first year. Other companies have experienced a similar increase in productivity and efficiencies leveraging Arena. “The reason why we selected Arena was the simplicity of the system for our specific needs,” says Dean Floyd, director of IT application and compliance at ShoreTel.
Arena’s BOMControl Spring 2013 Release is one of many steps intended to expand Arena’s capabilities and provides customers with one of the most robust cloud-based PLM solution in the market; in doing so, Arena has expanded the company’s attractiveness to capitalize on an expanding PLM market that grew to $33.3 billion in 2012. Arena’s CEO Craig Livingston attributes the success of Arena to superior products and a customer-first philosophy.
“At Arena, we spend a great deal of our time listening to our customers and then delivering on an aggressive product roadmap to address their pain points,” says Livingston. “Arena is committed to delivering superior cloud PLM features designed to help manufacturers reduce risk, lower costs, and accelerate manufacturing business results.”
New-customer wins
Arena added several high profile customers during the quarter. “Arena’s expanded capabilities are meeting the needs of innovators — not just in Silicon Valley — but from around the world evidenced by our new customer acquisition Starline SPA, a Russian maker of automotive safety products,” says Livingston. The following companies are a sample of Arena’s new customers:
WattStopper — maker of energy efficient lighting controls for commercial and residential use.
Michigan Industrial Tool — a leading hand tool company for independent
hardware and lumber stores, automotive centers, and farm supply stores.
Starline SPA LLC — a Russia-based market leader in the manufacturing of automotive safety products, including car alarms, immobilizers, and GPS units.
F’Real Foods — provider of authentic milkshakes, smoothies and frozen cappuccino blended frozen beverages all made from real ingredients.
Recor Medical — developer of a unique therapeutic non-focused ultrasound system for performing renal denervation in patients with resistant hypertension.
“Arena’s cloud PLM applications offer companies greater IP security and visibility into the product lifecycle, translating into streamlined processes, operational efficiency and increased opportunities for product innovation,” says Steve Chalgren, Arena’s vice president of product management and strategy.
